One way I’ve found to make money online and you can too is by private labeling products.
WHAT IS PRIVATE LABELING?
If you’re not sure what “Private labeling” in terms of products means you actually take someone else’s product, put your name on it, and sell it (almost as if you made it). It’s not really lying. It’s what a lot of manufacturers do and companies do! You cannot expect them to all manufacture their own products!
If you just go to the grocery store and look, it says “not affiliated with” or “not made by” or “made by whatever company”. These are called co-packers and manufacturers.
EXAMPLE: Probably the very first way I found to make money online is by private labeling products. I had sold those vape liquids that you put into those pens to smoke. But what I did is I had this product made and shipped over here from overseas, but it was privately labeled. I didn’t make the product or anything, they did everything. They just put my name on it and sent it to me and I started selling it.
Yet it wasn’t something that I did or cared about. It was this brilliant idea that somebody gave me and ended up being a failure. It was NOT a great investment. You should really know what you’re selling first.
Even though some might say, the first product I tried to private label was a big fail it did teach me a lot about importing and exporting, as well as private labeling, product design, and even how to liquidate inventory, etc… It was a CRASH COURSE for starting my own business!
EXAMPLE:
I have a client who wants to make soap, but said she didn’t want to make it or it was very time-consuming, expensive, etc… so I suggested instead of making your own soap, why don’t you just get it privately labeled and just sell it as if it was your own. Just get somebody else to make it for you and put your name on it. — That would be an example of private labeling.
WHERE CAN YOU FIND PRODUCT IDEAS?
If you already have a product in mind then you can start searching for that. But, if not then maybe consider getting ideas from:
WHERE CAN YOU FIND MANUFACTURERS?
The best place to start is online and potentially overseas. I find products to test in small quantities on AliExpress and companies I can buy bulk quantities from on Alibaba. You can search for suppliers, manufacturers, and wholesalers locally in the US or other locations. So if you ever wonder where all those people on Amazon get some of their products from? Or tons of other stores, side hustlers, you name it. At some point, someone probably ordered them from one of these websites, or similar.
